Aldenham Country Park... bringing the curriculum to life!
From Farm to Fork, Aldenham Country Park’s trained Education Team brings learning to life in fun, interactive and imaginative ways, we offer wonderful facilities for outdoor learning in a natural, free-range environment.
We are here to help children to interpret the natural world, and to enjoy learning about different habitats and about where their food comes from. The educational opportunities at Aldenham relate primarily to science, art, geography and PSHE.
Educational Visits and Workshops can be adapted for different age groups or requirement. Sessions with an ‘Early Years’ stamp are aimed at nursery and preschool classes.
You can select workshops or self-led activities to build a package that is tailored to your needs and budget.
Facilitated by our Education Team and the resources they have produced, Self-Led visits allow you to come and use the Park, Woodland, and Farm areas at your own leisure, giving you more freedom to meet our animals, learn teamwork skills, and discover more about nature.
Although these visits are largely self-led, our Education Team can help with additional activities such as camp fire building in the woods, or animal handling in the petting area. These can be arranged when booking (an extra charge will apply for certain activities).
Please Note: We are a working farm and therefore some activities may depend upon the season.
Our workshops are fun, interactive sessions led by friendly instructors. They last 45 minutes and cater to a group of up to 30 children.
We have a perfect location for outdoor learning, with a range of sessions to choose from that take place around our site.
Farm - Learn about lifecycles, where food comes from, and get a chance to feed and pet the animals
Woodland - Discover the nature trail, go searching for minibeasts, and even build your own den
Park - Explore the park, use your senses, and get creative in our park workshops
Winnie the Pooh - Perfect for EYFS groups, have a story time with Pooh Bear, or have him make a guest appearance during your trip!
