Here at Aldenham Country Park we strive to offer a free range educational experience. From the Farm to the 100 Aker Wood, there is an abundance of knowledge to be gained about different animals and their behaviours, the wildlife around us and our environment, whilst engaging children's adventurous and playful spirits.
Educationally, we believe it is important to teach children about farm animals and how farms work, for a variety of reasons. It's really important children understand where their food comes from. This can help children appreciate food more and to understand the process of field to fork.
Our Farm and Park Explorers School Visits enable you to explore the park, woodlands and working farm in your own time and pace in a self-led education trip. You can lead your class to examine wildlife at the reservoir, home to a wide variety of wild birds, ramble in the nature trails and visit 100 Aker Wood to find the homes of Winnie the Pooh and friends - Eeyore, Christopher Robin and Co. With 100 acres to explore there is certainly plenty to see and do. The real working Farm is an ideal way to introduce children to farm animals.
We are also home to Little Life Nursery, a fun, interactive and educational indoor and outdoor experience for 2-5 year old children. Founded to provide an idyllic environment for children to develop physically, emotionally and intellectually. A perfect place to encourage children to be imaginative and develop their creativity within a natural outdoor environment.
