Aldenham Country park is a visitor attraction with a small working farm based on 100 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside only 12 miles from central London. We are a not-for-profit community interest company and our purpose is to maintain and enhance the park for the benefit of all.

We are looking for people with bright friendly personalities and with exceptional customer service skills. You must take pride in your work and enjoy a challenge whilst keeping calm and engaging towards the general public. This is a position that is never the same from one day to the next and is a great role for someone who can adapt to the ever-changing demands of the park whilst smiling and keeping positive at all times to ensure that our customers have a fantastic day out.

Essential requirements for any job at Aldenham

• Must be friendly and have a smile on your face at all times

• Be available to work weekends, bank holidays and school holidays

Desirable qualities

• Access to a car would be desirable due to the location of the park but this is not essential however being able to attend shifts on time is an essential requirement

Voluntary internship – work experience with accommodation

We offer internships of between 4 months and 1 year and find that this suits most people living and working on the farm, park or with the visitors. The park is an extremely diverse enterprise and we can tailor each internship to suit your talents or interests from animal husbandry, camping, visitor attraction through to marketing and business analytics or even a combination of areas.

We provide shared accommodation (with paid utility bills) in one of our 2 bungalows, uniform, free range eggs and expenses of £50.00 per week. In return we ask that volunteers work at least 5 days and week with hours ranging from 8.30 to 5pm in the winter and 8.30 up to dusk in the summer and are willing to be flexible to help out where the business needs help. It can be physically demanding, is outside for most if not all of the time depending on your role and is great fun. You will learn a lot about yourself as well as new skills for future.
